so much is on my mind right now. i think that's why i'm still up @ 2:54am.
my dog ate the wire on my headphones. i went to the gym today and tried to listen to my ipod and couldn't figure out why i had no sound. i quickly realized that alvin got to them when i saw the tiny bite marks on the wire, just enough to make them useless. oh well, i need a new pair anyway. he just sped up the process.
i realized today that i want to do everything. well not really everything everything but i always want to get involved. i have a lot of interests/hobbies but only so much time. i need to stop spreading myself too thin. i like being busy, i'm better at that, but there's that fine line, ya know? trouble is - i have a hard time deciding what i really want to do.
it seemed like the topic of the day was the future. everyone's making plans mostly for summer and even beyond. this whole adult/grown-up thing really happens. on the other end, i was looking back at high school pictures today and i still miss it. i thought that would go away. i guess i knew it would never completely go away but i figured after so long the missing would decrease but l still find myself greatly missing it. the people, the fun times. don't get me wrong, college is great. but there's somethings about high school and the past that's never the same. i knew it would be like this and yet i still feel like i took it for granted a little.
break was enjoyable. i got to spend time with a lot of great people but as always i didn't feel as if it was enough time with them. derek celebrated his 21st during the break. it was fun. [happy birthday again babe]. it's funny, i remember celebrating his 16th like it was a few months ago. mine is coming up here soon, that came out of no where too.
one thing i really want to work on this summer is getting my scrapbooks up to date. i have so many pictures i need to add and we have all this fun new stuff to use. i was going through some of the pictures and pages when i was home and i've forgotten about most of them. i take so many it's hard to keep track. i want to catch up.
though my thoughts are random i feel like i can go to sleep now.

12:21 am - [i'm thankful for all of the people in my life]

good weekend.
it was actaually the first weekend i've been up without having a game all semester. i ended up working a lot this week/weekend which was much needed especially with the upcoming holidays. so that kept me pretty busy friday night and saturday during the day. then saturday night alicia, jerry, his roomie and I went to go see a movie in honor of jerry's bday! we saw stranger then fiction, it was a good, I enjoyed it. afterwards derek, jerry, and I went to IHOP. lol it was around 12:30am..whcih is pretty much the only good time to go to ihop or denny's..then we decided to make a meijer run and spent about 3 hours walking around meijer and playing with stuff..it was fun!! we got back around 4 something maybe?? idk..it was so random but awesome..and derek and i just got back from dinner at bww w/ nate and alicia..yummy...i'm stuffed though!!
I'm sooo excited about going home this week..i plan to leave on tuesday as early as possible..i still have to make sure everything is okay with the wednesday classes but I'm so ready to go. i can't believe how fast the holidays came, i'm so used to hearing christmas music and seeing decorations during halloween but i havent really heard/seen much at all so today i decided to put some on to get me in the holiday spirit..it's funny though because the christmas music i have is really old stuff including: hanson, nsync, jewel, and a country album..but i won't lie, i like it, i still jam.. haha
well i hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving!! and i hope to see all of you!

12:35 am - time is a flying..

so i just got back to my dorm a little while ago from a nice weekend at home..
i wanted to stay home longer! boo. It was really nice and relaxing. My dad picked me up friday afternoon and we just hung out most of the day. It was so great to just see Shelby again, I love it in the fall. Saturday I spent some more time with my family and derek. I also went to coffee with Kristen! I haven't seen that girl in way too long. we went to caribu, of course! :o) it was good to catch up. Then this morning I had breakfast with Caitlin, whom I also haven't seen in 2 months. I miss these girls. My mom and I went out today and did some shopping. At one of our stops we were picking up some stuff for the dogs and we found Alvin the cutest winter jacket, boots, and sweater!!
he's too cute.
so yes, it was a good weekend. This week seems like it will be pretty usual and then I'll be home again this weekend. :o)
oh! I must mention that I am extremely happy about this past saturday's football game!! thank goodness! and go tigers!

this week has gone by so fast. it's crazy, but i don't mind. we have the MICHIGAN game this weekend. i don't know what to think. lol but either way it should be fun. I'm working a lot this weekend too which is much needed..i need some extra $$ and hopefully it will make me do my hw.
i miss home so much. i haven't been back at all this semester, it's going on 2 months. i'm pretty positive that i will be home in 2 weeks though! soo excited! :o) I can't wait to see my family and derek and puppies and friends back home and my BED of course!! lol The holidays are almost here too which is equally exciting, it's starting to turn into the fall weather which i love oh so much!
last night i went to sparty watch! haha good times..i'm really glad i went..they had a dj and everything. PLUS some of the tens got a picture with sparty!! This is my first picture with him!! yes!

tomorrow is derek's and my 3 year & 3 month anniversary! hehe I love you baby! ;o)

so i suppose now is as good of time as any to start updating again, now that i've had a moment to stop and breathe..
summer was pretty awesome, I accomplished a lot:
-I had my first intership @ cherry creek where I learned SOO much! and met some pretty cool people too. I also reconfirmed my desire to become a wedding planner! :)
-I auditioned for the bigtens. I was and still am very excited to be a part of the SMB!!
-I went to KY for a mission trip. Probably one of the coolest things I've done with my time. That experience has really made me want to do more volunteer work.
-I got my license! lol I finally did it, it still seems weird to me.
-I also got to spend a bunch of time with my family, friends, and derek! We had a bunch of BBQs, bonfires, and parties. It was nice to catch up on some of the time I missed with people!
so now i'm already well into my second year at msu. I moved in on the aug 18th. For the first two days I had receptionist training because I'm working at the front deak in shaw. Then the very next day SMB preseason began. We had preseason up until the day before classes started, it was a lot of work but also fun! Once classes began we went into a daily hour and a half rehearsal. I'm really pleased with my classes for this semester, I truly enjoy them all. I'm taking two hospitality classes, a science class, economics, and a social science. All of my teachers seem interesting and I know I have a lot to learn from them.
our first football game was yesterday. we played Idaho and won, 24-17 I believe? The entire day was very exciting! We marched to the stadium and then did our pregame show..SO MUCH FUN! :) It was an awesome experience! I marched the Iowa flag which was cool because I became quite attached to it during preseason! hehe The game was fun to watch, I'll admit it was my first MSU game so it was a good time. After we did one more song on the field and marched back. It was also the first night that us freshmen could wear our band jackets! yay! My mom and aunt went to the game so after we all went out to dinner! After dinner I ate this huge brownie/ice cream thing..it was so good especially because we couldn't have any ice cream during preseason, so it was my little reward to myself for making it through everything! lol kinda silly, i know.
that brings me to now. It seems like the past few weeks have gone by so fast. today is our first day off so i've been able to get a bunch of errands done with the help of my family. Derek will be coming up to see me tomorrow! I'm really excited, I miss him so much! Also, tomorrow night we have a 3 hour mini camp rehearsal for band. Then it's another week of school!
Well I'm going to take advantage of this free time and get a little reading done for class..

So I'm officially done with my first year of college. WOO! That feels really good to say even though I still can't believe it! So I had my last two exams and moved out. It was a weird feeling I admit. Seeing the room like it was when we first got there was weird too! Derek's car was literally packed with the rest of my stuff, it was quite funny. It still feels like I'll just be going back in a few days though.
Finals we're..okay. I only had 3, which was nice and I did a lot of studying for them but I am soooo happy they are over! :)
So right now I'm in one of the computer labs @ CCS. Derek is in his review (which is like his final) where they go over some of his work from the semester. We came here right after my last exam so I have yet to be home. I think I've been so overwhelmed with studying and packing these past few weeks that I haven't even had a chance to think of what's going on past today. lol
There's definitely some fun stuff coming up. Thursday, Derek and I are going to the Black Eyed Peas concert! I'm really excited for that! Also, I start work on Saturday which I am super excited for too! It'll be nice when I have my actual schedule for the summer so I know when I can do other things. Then in like 2 weeks my family is going to Cedar Point! :) I can't wait, it'll be so much fun...we didn't go last year because of New York and Spring Break so I'm looking forward to this family trip.
Well Derek's review is over so we're heading home! yay! :) I hope finals are going/went well for everyone! I look forward to seeing everybody soon!

last weekend was so nice..derek came up thursday night! We got together with jerry and alex and went to denny's and just hung out. Derek and I went home friday and spent some time with my family. Saturday I actually went out driving for the first time in...well a long time..lol..my parents and I did random errands all day and I drove! lol Then we picked up derek and went to dinner. I'm starting to drive more when I'm home because I seriously need to get my license! lol Easter Sunday was soo nice. I had breakfast with the Roberts. Then derek and I hung out @ my house. I practiced my skateboarding skills for a while! haha I actually really like it. We went back to Derek's to film a short movie for one of his classes, it was so funny! His whole family came over for dinner too, it was great to see everyone. After dinner we headed over to my aunts where they were having a BBQ and spent time with my family. I miss them so much! For easter derek and I made baskets for each other, it was so much fun!! In my basket he put one of those peep stuffed bunnies!! it's so cute. I seriously had so much candy! Luckily I got to stay home until Monday because my mom had the day off! That made the weekend feel so much longer!! We came up in the morning and got to hang out for a bit! We went to Panera..soo good! Then got our nails done and did my grocery shopping! It was a fun girls afternoon. :)
so i'm in a slightly frustrated mood..
i just got back from my math class and found out that I did really bad on the last exam. i'm so disappointed with myself especially because i actually thought i did really well. ugh! anyway, i'm happy that it's the end of the semester but it's just so stressful! i'm sure everyones feeling the pressure.
I really wanted to do a 5K run this year because well I've always wanted to and there have been so many advertised for the next couple weekends. Idk if i'm gonna though because my backs been hurting me and i haven't been able to do my usual running. i think i'm gonna see how the next few days go and may be do one next weekend? anyone want to join me!?
yesterday i was working on my schedule for next year. i think i'm going to like my classes. i'm really trying to avoid friday classes again, it was so nice this year! but i think i will end up having a few 8ams. oh well. right now my fall schedule is HB105, STT201, EC201, HB265, ISB204 and then my spring is HB201, EC202, HB267, IAH241, ISS395...that is if I can get into them when i do enrollment. but considering i have enrollment really late i'll probably have to make a few changes. so if anyone has had any of these classes and they have any recommendations on teachers or sections or anything please let me know! thanks!!
oh so i'm taking down my loft this friday *tear* i'm gonna miss it. lol i think amanda and i are going to bunk our beds so we can keep our desks in our room and keep the futon and living area the same. so my uncle and cousins will be up friday to help me out with that! they're awesome! we've all been taking stuff home every weekend so our room is starting to look empty!
well that was kinda a random update. But I'm off to go eat dinner.

I had a really enjoyable weekend!
Went home thursday with my mom. It was the first trip that I actually started bringing stuff home for the summer - so weird!
But anyway, Friday I spent the morning with my mom. It was so much fun to just run errands and go to lunch with her! I also had an interview friday @ cherry creek. And...I got a job!!! :) So needless to say I was pumped to hear this news, but then I go home and check my email and find out that I also got a job for next semester as a receptionist @ shaw!! It was really exciting! :)
Saturday I did some cleaning in the morning and hung out with my family. Then Derek and I went to his house for a while. We had dinner with his family and then had a hilarious game of apples to apples. It was so much fun! I love playing games. Then I met up with Kristen @ Caribou!! Aww I miss that girl so much! It was really nice to catch up and she definitely got me the coolest bday gifts ever! ;) Thanks french fry!
Today derek and I drove back up to state. Did our usual Meijer & Jimmy John's run!
Only 23 days or 12 school days left! But I feel like there's still a lot to do in classes. Plus dealing with all of the move out stuff of taking lofts down and bringing everything home. oh boy.
well I need some sleep so that's all for now.

5 weeks left of school - I can't believe it. One year almost done! It's still so strange to me that we're all growing up. Definitely ready for summer though! It'll be nice to be home for a substantial amount of time. I need to get a job for my entry level internship and I need to get my license. lol that's a whole other story. Also I really miss everyone when I'm up here! It'll be nice to be home and get to spend more time with derek and my family and friends!
Random thought: A year ago I'd be getting ready for spring break! ohh I miss the cruise! :)
Last weekend we got a new puppy! He is a yorkie terrier and he's so adorable! He weighs a whole 2.6 pounds and will probably get to be about 5. His name is Alvin! hehe My mom picked him up Sunday so I only got to see him for about a half hour before she had to leave so I am very excited to be able to spend some time with him this weekend!

finals are starting. I had my first one this morning, it was for my wra. As much as I dislike finals I'm glad to get them out of the way. As of right now I only have 4 more classes. :) Then next week I have 3 finals but they are all early on in the week so I'll be going home tuesday afternoon for break! Very excited about that.
Christmas is almost here!! yay! i'm definitely in the Christmas spirit! hehe
Well I'm off to go workout, busy day today.

I am extremely happy with my professors...
my communication professor canceled class for this thursday.
my writing professor canceled class for this wednesday and next wednesday.
my social science professor canceled class for next wednesday.
:)
so basically i get to sleep in really late tomorrow and thursday AND i get to go home tuesday afternoon next week for Thanksgiving break! I'm soo excited! Just thinking about that is helping me get through the week. This is the longest I've ever been here without going home. I know to most people it's nothing but this is an achievement for me! lol It's just making me more excited to go home for the holidays!
so yeah today it was really rainy. I seriously got so wet! lol Throughout the day I ended up going through 3 pairs of jeans. hah oh well. Went to dinner w/ the alicias, stacey, and jerry @ case hall. We celebrated alicia's bday. Happy 18 alicia!! Tomorrow is going to be a slow day, i don't have much to do. I have a math exam, and i'll prolly go to the gym and then catch up on reading and homework.
This weekend I will be going to my first MSU football game! lol oh boy. Thennn sometime saturday evening derek will be up!! :) yay!
right now i'm listening to the rent cd, love it! I'm super excited to see the movie next week!! I honestly need to get back into my music/'fine art' stuff, I miss it.
so i was uploading some pictures onto my computer today and it made me miss a lot of ppl. Most of them were pics from high school. And I realized that I really miss the day to day stuff. It's so different not seeing everyone all the time. I love the fact that everyone is so good about staying in touch and making plans for breaks and stuff but I still miss the old routine! hehe I hope you all are loving college though, and for all of my underclassmen I hope high school is going well! :)
